Lyricist of “Veerayya Title Track,” Chandrabose, responds and defends his workWriter/director Yandamuri Veerendranath and Chiranjeevi’s association goes back a long way. The duo had collaborated for movies like Raakshasudu, Challenge, and Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari. However, things went sour between them after Stuartpuram Police Station. So Veerendranath’s criticism of Waltair Veerayya's title track irked Mega fans, who thought it was a targeted attack on the actor. A person called Vootukur Janaki Rama Rao shared his take on Waltair Veerayya's title track. He pointed out certain contradictions within the lyrics of the song and claimed the lyricist Chandrabose didn’t think it through when penning the lyrics. Yandamuri Veerendranath backed Janaki Rama Rao's criticism, which attracted a lot of heat from Mega fans. However, Chandrabose defended his work and said, “I want my work to be accessible to all. I write so that even my mother would understand the song.” He further explained the oxymorons, such as ‘Agnivarsham’ (fire rain), used in the lyrics. Oxymorons are the combination of contradictory phrases and using the figure of speech was an intentional choice of the lyricist. Chandrabose remarked, “Rain means coolness, and fire means warmth. It’s a paradox, but it describes Veerayya.”
