Bobby Simha spills the beans on the plans for Vivek’s character in the movieLegendary comedian and multi-talented Kollywood personality Vivek was cast in a pivotal role in S Shankar directorial Indian 2, featuring Kamal Haasan in the lead role. In his very first collaboration with Kamal, the actor was going to play the role of a CBI officer. However, Vivek passed away in April 2021 due to a cardiac arrest. When production on the upcoming movie resumed in late 2022, speculations were rife about the actor’s scenes being reshot with another actor. The rumours deeply disappointed fans who were excited to watch two legends share screen space.However, today, actor Bobby Simha, who plays a vital role in the film, confirmed that the late actor’s scenes would remain in the movie, “Vivek sir's portions will be there in the film definitely. A different version of him will be seen in this movie.” Fans rejoiced at the news and are curious to see how Shankar will proceed with his character, considering the filming was only partly done before the actor’s demise. ‘Indian 2’ is a much-anticipated sequel to the 1996 film titled ‘Indian’ (Bharateeyudu in Telugu). The second part will reportedly take off from the cliffhanger ending in ‘Bharateeyudu’. Apart from Kamal, Bobby and Vivek, the action film stars Kajal Aggarwal as the female lead, and Rakul Preet Singh will be seen in a prominent role. Bankrolled jointly by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies, the film will feature music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, a first for Shankar, who typically tends to collaborate with AR Rahman.
