"I’d Rather Be Who I Am And Have These Rumours Than Be A Nobody," Says Vijay Deverakonda 'Liger' actor Vijay Deverakonda’s personal life has always been in the limelight given his fan following. The actor has seen it all from rumours about his career to linkups with his leading ladies. Recently, Bollywood starlets Sara Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor dropped some hints on his rumoured relationship with Rashmika Mandanna on the celebrity talk show 'Koffee With Karan.' In a candid conversation, Vijay opened up about such rumours and the spotlight on his personal life stating that these kinds of rumours do not bother him. As per a report in the Times of India, Vijay said, “I think it’s just collateral damage of being a public figure. When people love you and want to know more about you, they’re just interested in your life. If there are news articles coming, I’m ok with it.” He further added, “I’d rather be who I am and have these rumours written about me than be a nobody and have nothing written about me. So I’m ok with the not necessarily true stuff, or not necessarily productive stuff. I’m comfortable with it, it does not bother me.” Vijay Deverakonda was also questioned about his relationship status when he recently appeared on an episode of 'Koffee With Karan' to which the actor replied, “We have done two films together at a really early stage in my life. She is a darling, and I am really fond of her. We are really good friends. We share so much through films, lots of highs and lows. A bond gets created.” Vijay and Rashmika have, so far, worked together in two films -- 'Geetha Govindam' and 'Dear Comrade'. Both are all set to foray into Bollywood with their respective pan-Indian films; Vijay in 'Liger' alongside Ananya Panday helmed by ace director Puri Jagannadh and Rashmika in 'Animal' alongside Ranbir Kapoor directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Deverakonda made his debut in 2011 with 'Nuvvila' and secured his first lead role in 'Pelli Choopulu,' a romantic coming-of-age film. But 'Arjun Reddy' was his breakthrough performance. In 2019, 'Film Companion' ranked Deverakonda's performance in 'Arjun Reddy' in "100 Greatest Performances of the Decade."
