Veteran Stunt Director Judo Rathnam Passes Away; Kamal Haasan Offers Condolences

Legendary stunt director Judo Rathnam passed away on Thursday, 26 January. The 92-year-old started his career with ‘Vallavan Oruvan’, in 1966 and went onto work in over 1,500 films. He holds the Guinness World Record for the most number of films as a stunt choreographer.
The stunt master, according to a news report by DT Next, was suffering from geriatric complications when he passed away. He worked in over 40 films with veteran actor Rajinikanth. He worked in films like ‘Payum Puli’, ‘Padikkadhavan’, and ‘Raja Chinna Raja’ with the actor. He also worked with Ulganayagan Kamal Haasan. Taking to social media the actor mourned the death of the stunt master. He tweeted in Tamil, which translates into English as “Mr. Judo Ratnam has made the grueling combat training a path to health without worrying about the body. He has worked in more than 1500 films, which is in the Guinness Book of Records. disappeared. Tribute to him. (sic)”
