Radha Krishna Entertainments will release the movie in Australia and New ZealandNandamuri Balakrishna starrer Veera Simha Reddy is leading the race for overseas booking among the Sankranti releases. The movie grossed more than $100K in presales for US premieres alone. The movie’s Australian rights have now been bought by Radha Krishna Entertainments. Radha Krishna Entertainments is an overseas film distributor with Nikhil Siddharth and Anupama Parameswaran’s 18 Pages, Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya, Ajith Kumar’s ‘Thunivu’ (releasing in Telugu as Tegimpu) and Samantha’s Shaakuntalam in its catalogue. Twitter ‘Veera Simha Reddy’ is the Balakrishna movie with the best overseas collections. 2014’s Legend changed the tide of Balyya’s movies in the overseas market, but Akhanda truly made an impact. Akhanda fetched sensational collections, paving the way for future Balakrishna movies to have grand international releases. Now, Balayya has a considerable lead in overseas collections. ‘Veera Simha Reddy’ is set in a village in Rayalaseema. Balayya plays a dual role of father and son, the former from rustic roots and the latter more urbane. Shruti Haasan plays the female lead in the movie helmed by Gopichand Malineni. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Duniya Vijay play key antagonistic roles. The movie’s tunes are composed by S Thaman. The movie is slated for release on January 12.
