Legendary pair to join hands for another box-office sensation after 35 years Few can ever forget the magic unleashed on screen by the combination of Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan when they came together for Nayagan (Nayakudu in Telugu), in 1987. The film was India's official submission for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1988 at the 60th Academy Awards; however, it was not shortlisted among the final nominees. It was included in TIME's "All-Time 100 Best Films", and News18's "100 greatest Indian films of all time".Now, nearly three and a half decades later, Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan are all set to join hands again. The duo has apparently decided to collaborate on a project which will happen in 2024. The film, tentatively called ‘KH234’ will be produced by Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam, R Mahendran and Siva Ananth on their respective banners Raaj Kamal Films International and Madras Talkies. The film will be presented by Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies.AR Rahman as usual will be the composer for the Mani Ratnam film. The latest buzz regarding the project is that Trisha Krishnan is being considered for the role of female lead in the film. Trisha has worked with Mani Ratnam in Yuva and his recent release Ponniyin Selvan. Getting to be a part of ‘KH234’ will undoubtedly be a huge landmark in her career.
