Kiran Korrapati reveals a few interesting details on how Varun Tej was able to prepare for the role of Ghani Varun Tej’s Ghani is all set to have a worldwide theatrical release on April 8, 2022. While film marks the debut of Kiran Korrapati as director, he also wrote the story for the film. During the promotional rounds of the film he shared his major concerns while shooting the film. “Ghani is the first pure boxing film in Telugu cinema. Earlier, we had films on kick-boxing, martial arts, etc. So, I wanted to convey the story in as authentic way as possible. There are six kinds of ‘punches’ in boxing and the actual boxing episodes last around 20 minutes in the film. So, I wanted to be double sure that all aspects of this sport were properly reflected on screen. That was my primary concern,” said Kiran and added, “We roped in English boxer Tony Jeffries, a bronze medalist at the 2008 summer Olympics, to train Varun Tej. The boxing scenes were written separately as a script unto themselves and rehearsed multiple times.” Saiee Manjrekar plays the female lead in ‘Ghani’ and the movie boasts an ensemble supporting cast comprising Suniel Shetty, Jagapathi Babu, Upendra, Naveen Chandra, Nadiya and Tanikella Bharani.
