If reports surfacing on the social space are to be trusted, 'Varisu' will have a runtime of close to three hours.A few media outlets have reported that the Vijay-Rashmika Mandanna starrer will stretch over 163 minutes; meaning two-hours-forty-three minutes. Usually, Indian films have a similar prolonged theatrical cut, but the current moviegoers might deem it lengthier, considering they're now continually exposed to international films that clock a crispy runtime of close to two hours. Though 'Varisu' has the advantage of festival release since it's hitting the theatres during Sankranti aka Pongal 2023, the Thalapathy-starrer has to compete with other biggies slated for a release around the same timeline to emerge as a blockbuster. Thala Ajith Kumar's Thunivu, Chiranjeevi's Waltair Veerayya, and Nandamuri Balakrishna-starrer Veera Simha Reddy are some of the star-led films that ‘Varisu’ will battle at the box office.
