Ajith Kumar and Thalapathy Vijay fans press pause on the fans wars Fan wars in Tamil cinema are an everyday affair, especially after the advent of social media. The conflict is the most extreme during the Sankranti season owing to simultaneous big releases. This year, Thalapathy Vijay and ‘Thala’ Ajith Kumar’s movies, Varisu’ (Vaarasudu in Telugu) and ‘Thunivu’ (Thegimpu in Telugu), will lock horns at the box office. The ongoing conflict was exacerbated by Dil Raju’s comments. The producer said, “We all know that Thalapathy Vijay is the number one star in Tamil Nadu.” The comment did not go well with fans of Ajith. However, the fans are pressing pause on the fan wars. Ajith Kumar’s fan club in the city of Tirunelveli, also known as Nellai, put up a hoarding with images of both stars and wished for the success of their films. Previously, in a media interaction, H Vinoth, the director of Ajith’s ‘Thegimpu’, also said that he would be watching Vijay’s ‘Vaarasudu’ in the theatre on the first day. He said, "I have already seen the movie Thunivu many times, so I will be watching Varisu on the first day.”Both films will be released in theatres on January 12, 2023. In the Telugu states, they will go up against Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy, Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya, and Santosh Shobhan's Kalyanam Kamaneeyam.
