However, things have changed for Suriya post-Vikram: Hitlist after his cameo in the movie as ‘Rolex’ struck a chord with audiences across the nation. The latest reports are a testament to Suriya’s skyrocketed stardom as industry sources reveal that ‘Suriya42’ has sold its Hindi rights for Rs 100 crores to Pen Studios’ Jayantilal Gada.Though the movie will have a theatrical release in more than 10 languages, the Hindi version’s theatrical, digital, and satellite rights, alone have fetched the makers of ‘Suriya42’ Rs 100 crores. Pinkvilla reported the same by quoting an industry source, “Jayantilal Gada (Pen Studios) has acquired the Hindi rights of Suriya 42 for a sum of Rs 100 crore. This is the biggest buy till date for a Suriya film in Hindi as also one of the biggest buys till date for a Pan-India film from the Tamil Film Industry. The makers are leaving no stone unturned to make a massive reincarnation-based action adventure, set in past and present, which appeals to audiences all across, and have found their ideal partner in Jayantilal Gada.”Apparently, the Rs 100 crore deal is the highest price earned by a Suriya-starrer to date. While a major chunk of the filming has been wrapped up, the action-fantasy drama is yet to wrap up the movie and announce its official release date.
