Director Rajamouli Talks About A Possible Sequel To 'RRR'SS Rajamouli’s RRR was never written with a sequel in mind. Unlike Baahubali, which was meant to be a two-part series, 'RRR' was written as a standalone film. That changed when the movie became a blockbuster hit. Following the initial success of 'RRR', Rajamouli speaking to an international film website, admitted that he started considering the possibility of a sequel only after the success of the film. However, at the time, he didn’t have a viable idea for the story. It was only after the film got an international success that the topic came up again. This time, his cousin SS Kanchi suggested an idea that the director instantly fell in love with. Rajamouli spoke about the sequel plans after a special screening of 'RRR' in a Chicago theatre and revealed that his father, Vijayendra Prasad was working on a story for the sequel. Rajamouli’s father and the writer behind all his films, is now working on expanding the idea. The director remarked that while he couldn’t share any further details now, the story was a long way from fruition. Once the script is done, he would sit with his core team to figure out how to make it and how best to bring it to the silver screen. Interestingly, Rajamouli said that Ram Charan and Jr NTR would return as “Ramaraju” and “Bheem,” as and when the sequel is made.
