‘Vakeel Saab’ Actress spills the beans on ‘Veera Simha Reddy’ Vs ‘Waltair Veerayya’
Shruti Haasan is having the best year professionally. From starring in an international project ‘The Eye’, NBK's Veera Simha Reddy, and Chiranjeevi's Waltair Veerayya, she also released her second, 'She Is Hero' which is an ode to women. The video has crossed 1.3 million views to date.
In a candid media interaction, the actress opened up on the ‘Veera Simha Reddy’ Vs ‘Waltair Veerayya’ box office clash, ageism in the industry, and much more.
Opening up on the clash, the actress said, “We cannot be nervous about the film, but we can do our best when we are on set and I think we all have really worked hard. These are two superstars with a huge mass fan following and I'm excited to be a part of it. Yeah, I think it's quite rare to have the same moment, the same producer.”
She also spoke about working with Tollywood biggies including NBK and Chiranjeevi for the first time. She says, "Working with Balayya sir in Veera Simha Reddy was really fun. He is a very positive person, energetic, so that kind of energy is infectious, and it was really fun. It is not difficult to match up to his energy because he keeps everyone around on their toes.
The actress recently traveled to Europe with Megastar for shooting the much-loved song “Sridevi Chiranjeevi”. Speaking about her experience of working with the senior actor she said “Again, really wonderful to work with a legend like Chiranjeevi sir. We had a wonderful time shooting the last part of the movie in Europe and I'm really excited for people to see my character in that film because it is interesting,” says Shruti.
The actress-cum-singer also opened up about ageism as she was trolled for being cast against older actors. “I think ageism in the world is an issue. It is a youth and the vanity-driven world we live in, especially in the world of social media. The question is do you want to buy into it or not? There is beauty and grace with every age. There are certain roles you can play with only a certain amount of age and experience and those are the things I like to focus on and not get into the whole ageism talk,” concluded Shruti.
The actress will be next seen in Prabhas’ much-awaited film Salaar.
