Daughter of actors Jeevitha and Rajasekhar, Shivani opened up about her tough phase when she was labelled as 'Iron Leg' In the film industry, we frequently come across unfair labelling of actors and actresses with tags such as ‘Iron leg’ and ‘Bad luck’ whenever their films face successive failures or get shelved even before the start or in mid way. Shivani Rajasekhar was one such actress who was tagged similarly and she stated that the fear of being labelled so had caused her to slide into depression. “My debut film in Telugu was supposed to be a remake of ‘2 States’ but the movie was shelved owing to some reasons beyond my control. Similarly, in Tamil, my first film with Vishnu Vishal met with the same fate. I was so worried that those epithets would be used against me that I went into a depression. It wasn’t easy to come out of it. That’s when my father proved to be a pillar of support,” said Shivani Rajasekhar. Expounding further, she said, “My father’s words worked like a medicine. He said that one should always have an alternative in life and never to lose my confidence, self-respect or belief in myself. I’m now into my third year of MBBS and I’m no longer worried about my future. That doesn’t mean I’ll give up films…cinema and medicine...they are like two eyes for me”. After making her first on-screen debut with the film 'Pelli SandaD', Shivani earned applause for her performance in the film Adbhutam, which is her first film as a lead actress in Telugu cinema. She was also recently seen in Shekar, sharing the screen space with her father Dr Rajasekhar.
