'Gang Leader' fame Vallabhaneni Janardhan was 63The Telugu Film Industry woke up to unfortunate news on Wednesday. After the demise of veteran actors like Superstar Krishna, Rebel star Krishnam Raju, Kaikala Satyanarayana, Tammareddy Chalapathi Rao, Tollywood has lost yet another senior actor. Vallabhaneni Janardhan breathed his last this morning. He passed away at Apollo hospital where he was undergoing treatment. He was 63. The actor is survived by wife Lalini Chaudhary, daughter Abhinaya and son Avinash.After earning a reputation as a theatre artiste, Vallabhaneni Janardhan, made his big screen debut with K Raghavendra Rao directorial Gajadonga (1980) starring NTR and Sridevi in the lead role. The actor earned critical acclaim for his performance in Chiranjeevi’s blockbuster film Gang Leader (1991). He then went on to star in Surya IPS, Encounter, and Adhinetha. He has acted in more than 120 Telugu films.Vallabhaneni Janardhan also ventured into Television and acted in the popular Telugu TV serial ‘Ruthuragalu’. Janardhan turned into a producer with the film Ravi Teja’s Nee Kosam (1999), which won an impressive five Nandi Awards.
