In an interview given recently as part of the film's promotions, Sai Pallavi spoke about her role in a film that speaks of love amidst violence, and her observations have created a huge furore now with netizens both chastising and praising her. “The Kashmir Files movie depicted the killings of Kashmiri Pandits and more recently, a Muslim man was thrashed for transporting cows and the mob chanted 'Jai Shri Ram' after beating him up. If you look at it as a religious conflict, there isn’t any difference between what happened then (in Kashmir) and now,” said Sai Pallavi. Many netizens chastised Sai Pallavi for comparing 'Kashmiri Pandits Exodus' and 'Cow Vigilantism', whereas there were a few supporters who praised the actress for speaking her mind on religious violence.
