Makers release a new single from the Samantha-Dev Mohan starrer Tollywood's ace actress Samantha is all set to essay the role of the queen ‘Shakuntala’ in Gunasekhar’s periodic love tale Shaakuntalam. It is a mythological romantic drama based on the classic ‘Abhijnanashakuntalam’. The original play was written by the playwright Kalidasa. It tells the story of ‘Shakuntala’ and ‘Dushyanta,’ the mythological couple separated because of a curse. Samantha and Dev Mohan play the lead couple.The trailer already revealed the larger-than-life set pieces and epic landscapes forming the film’s impressive backdrop. The newly released song, “Rushivanamlona (in the forest inhabited by sages)”, gives us a glimpse into the love story of ‘Shakuntala’ and ‘Dhushyant.’ The raaga-based melody is written by Shreemani and composed by Mani Sharma. The song is beautifully voiced by Sid Sriram and Chinmayi Sripada. In the movie, the role of prince ‘Bharata’ is essayed by Allu Arjun’s daughter Allu Arha. The film’s trailer provided a tiny glimpse at her character dressed in simple scarlet robes and regally riding a lion. The movie marks her Tollywood debut. The movie is slated to release on February 17.
