Ram Charan and Jr NTR talk about the Oscars and more ahead of the award ceremonyAs the Oscars draw ever so close, the team of RRR is gearing up to walk the red carpet. Interacting with Entertainment Tonight in separate interviews, the two lead actors, Ram Charan and Jr NTR, talked about being in an Academy-nominated movie and what they feel about attending the ceremony with some of the biggest names in Hollywood. About walking the red carpet as an Oscar nominee, Ram Charan said, “I don’t know if I will ever be ready for the Oscars. I am nervous, I am excited. I don’t know if I will walk the red carpet, as a fanboy or as an actor. Everybody I have grown up watching. I cannot name them, but I am especially excited to see Cate Blanchett and Tom Cruise this Oscars. I have watched him in Top Gun until now. He is incredible.” Jr NTR, on the other hand, had a different response. He said he would be a proud Indian on the red carpet, “What else could an actor ask for? What else could a filmmaker ask for? To be a part of the biggest celebration of cinema globally, the Oscars. That day when we walk the red carpet, we’re not going to be just actors of RRR, or actor from Indian film industry. I am going to walk as an Indian on that carpet, with pride and carrying my nation in my heart.”Further, when asked about filming the Oscar-nominated “Naatu Naatu,” the two stars agreed on one thing, their knees still hurt from the tremendous amount of practice behind the perfectly synchronised choreography. Another point the two echoed is the global appeal of cinema, how movies are no longer restricted by geography or language but instead loved internationally for their content.RRR’s much-loved song “Naatu Naatu” will be performed live at the 95th Academy Awards ceremony by singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava. Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, the Oscars will be held on March 12 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood and will be broadcast live on Disney+Hotstar on March 13 in India.
