The star actress made an incorrect correction in a recent podcast with the American actor-director Dax ShepardSuperstar Priyanka Chopra has become social media's favourite topic of discussion ever since she called Rajamouli’s magnum opus ‘RRR’ a Tamil film in a recent podcast with the American actor-director Dax Shepard, where she talked about her journey in Bollywood as well as Hollywood. During the conversation, Priyanka spoke about the evolution of the Hindi film industry. She said, "Bollywood has evolved in such an incredible way. You have the mainstream big action and the love story and the dancing…," where Dax interrupted her midway by saying, “RRR…,” referring to the film which won an Oscar for its blockbuster song "Naatu Naatu".However, Priyanka corrected him and clarified that it is not a Hindi film. But, PC made a mistake herself by correcting him and said, "That's a Tamil movie by the way…It's like big, mega, blockbuster Tamil which does all of those… It's like our Avengers (sic)." Her comments sparked a meme fest on social media. One twitter user wrote, "Wow. PC has officially ended Tamil vs Telugu fan rivalry. Now please call Ponniyin Selvan a Telugu film and we're done. No more wars." The user said, "The way she corrected Dax so confidently like "that's a Tamil movie btw, that's a big mega blockbuster Tamil movie". you literally met RRR team during LA promos ahead of Oscars, hosted Charan and fam at your residence.(sic)"Some have even described it as ignorance about the individual southern states and the assumption that all of South India is Madras. Ironically, the global star made her big screen debut with the Tamil film ‘Tamizhan’, co-starring Vijay. Many were disappointed with Priyanka Chopra's mistake given that she hosted the team of ‘RRR’ in Los Angeles in connection with the Oscars. She even attended the screening of the film in the US and gave a shout-out to the film, apart from hosting her co-star and good friend Ram Charan and his wife Upasana at her residence in Los Angeles. Priyanka has acted alongside Ram Charan in his Bollywood debut, ‘Zanjeer’ (dubbed in Telugu as ‘Toofan’). SS Rajamouli has time and again remarked that it’s a Telugu language Indian film when people called it a Bollywood film.
