Ram Gopal Varma also revealed that he dislikes Mani Ratnam’s movies
Ram Gopal Varma is known for his bold and controversial statements while sharing his thoughts about movies, celebrities, and much more. In an interview for a YouTube channel, the ‘Rakhta Charitra’ director yet again made headlines with his latest remarks on SS Rajamouli’s RRR.
Ram Gopal Varma aka RGV, regarded the experience of watching ‘RRR’ in the theatres as that of watching a circus. While drawing a parallel between the magnum opus and a circus show, RGV clarified not to take his statement in a bad light. RGV said that his remarks should be considered a compliment as he enjoyed watching the movie in the theatres.
RGV said he was ecstatic when watching one specific scene involving Jr NTR and Ram Charan as he remarked, “I had an amazing experience while watching RRR, especially the scene of Jr. NTR and Ram Charan saving a youngster on a railway bridge. Both actors did exploits in Gemini Circus like professional gymnasts.”
After RGV compared Tarak and Ram Charan with professional gymnasts, he also revealed that he dislikes Mani Ratnam’s movies. The ‘Shiva’ director further stated that the feeling is mutual since Mani Ratnam isn’t fond of RGV’s movies. However, the controversial director added despite their differences in filmmaking, they collaborated on writing for ‘Donga Donga’ and ‘Gaayam’ in the past, wherein the duo disagreed with each other’s points as well.
On the work front, Mani Ratnam is currently occupied with his upcoming release PS - 1 (Ponniyin Selvan) which is set to hit the theatres on September 30. SS Rajamouli, who has been enjoying accolades courtesy of ‘RRR’, will team up with Mahesh Babu for an untitled pan-India film.
