James Cameron analysed ‘RRR’ with Rajamouli at the Critics Choice Awards
SS Rajamouli is basking in the success of his film RRR, which is seemingly unstoppable this awards season. After winning a Golden Globe, the team is now the proud winner of two Critics Choice Awards. Adding to the director’s happiness, he met James Cameron when attending the ceremony for the Critics Choice Awards.
Taking to his Twitter, the director expressed his glee at meeting the ace director. James Cameron, known for directing the ‘Avatar’ series, is one of the most revered names in Hollywood. The visuals in his films are touted for being majestic and for playing an important role in the storytelling process. Rajamouli got to speak to him for the first time, and the two directors spent 10 minutes discussing ‘RRR’. Apparently, Cameron loved the movie so much that he recommended it to his wife, Suzy, and even watched it a second time with her. Check out Rajamouli’s Tweet below:
RRR's official Twitter page shared a little glimpse into what the conversation between the two genius directors was like. Check out the video below:
“You can only imagine what it must be like, because of all the work and passion you've put in. All that must be yours,” Cameron is heard telling Rajamouli, presumably speaking about the ‘RRR’. The 30-second clip is clearly just a snippet of the conversation between the two but it looks like James Cameron was talking about the high-octane action sequences in the movie and how they result from Rajamouli's passion and commitment.
RRR is currently in the run for Oscars in two categories - ‘Best Picture’ and ‘Best Original Song’. Interestingly, ‘Avatar: The Way Of Water’ directed by James Cameron, is also in the race for ‘Best Picture’. The first part, ‘Avatar’ won three Oscars out of nine nominations and continues to be one of the highest-grossing movies of all time.
