Krishna Vamsi introduces Prakash Raj as ‘Raghava Rao’
Director Krishna Vamsi has time and again expressed that Prakash Raj starrer Rangamarthanda is his dream project. It's a remake of the 2016 Marathi film ‘Natsamrat’ starring Nana Patekar in the lead role.
Today, the makers released the first look of Prakash Raj as a theatre veteran Raghava Rao. The caption read, “Introducing the multi linguistic, multi talented & 5 times National award winner #PrakashRaj as multi shaded RAGHAVA RAO from the world of #Rangamarthanda!.”
In the new look, Prakash Raj is holding a mic and sporting a golden bracelet on his right hand with heavy garlands seemingly from a felicitation ceremony. The melodious background score by Ilaiyaraja further elevates the glimpse. Interestingly, the film was to be helmed by Prakash Raj himself but Prakash later entrusted that responsibility to his friend Krishna Vamsi as he felt that the character was so intense that he couldn't do justice to it both as an actor and director.
Check out the first glimpse here:
For the upcoming film, Prakash Raj-Krishna Vamsi are collaborating for the third time, the duo previously delivered hits such as Khadgam, and Antahpuram. Apart from Prakash Raj, the film will also feature Ramya Krishnan, Brahmanandam, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Aadarsh Balakrishna, in important roles.
Megastar Chiranjeevi too became a part of the project through the poetic verse “Nenuoka Natudni.” Chiru narrated a shayari written by Lakshmi Bhoopal, elaborating on the life of an actor. This is the first time he has recited a shayari, in fact, this is the first time that a shayari has been featured in a Telugu film.
Bankrolled by Kalipu Madhu and S Venkat Reddy on their respective banners Raja Shyamala Entertainments and Housefull Movies, the film is gearing up for an early 2023 release.
