The second part will reportedly begin production after Prabhas wraps up ‘Project K’ and ‘Raja Deluxe’
Prabhas is one of the busiest actors in the industry with five projects in his pipeline, including Salaar, helmed by KGF fame Prashanth Neel, Nag Aswin directorial Project K co-starring Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan, and Kriti Sanon starrer Adipurush directed by Om Raut. However, the actor hasn’t successfully delivered a hit since 2017’s Baahubali: The Conclusion.
Many fans are speculating that sequels are the way to go for Prabhas and that it will be the formula for Prabhas to find success once again. Hand in hand, the grapevine was abuzz with news of his upcoming movie ‘Salaar’ being a two-part release, raising the expectations for the film. The rumours started after producer Vijay Kirgandur of Homable films said, “At present, we are open to that idea (turning their successful ventures into franchises). We are also open to making sequels for Salaar. We will take the call after we watch the finished film. The same is with KGF 3. After Prashanth is done with Salaar, we will discuss it.”
The rumours were reportedly refuted, and it was said the movie would be released in a single part. However, now, it seems ‘Salaar’ will have a second part, but the two parts will not have back-to-back releases. The first part will enter post-production next month, and Prabhas and Prashanth Neel will shift focus onto their other projects. A decision on the second part will supposedly be made after the release of the first part, which is expected to complete shooting by the end of February. If the buzz is to be believed, 'Salaar 2' and 'KGF 3' both helmed by Prashanth, will be interconnected and create the opportunity for Prabhas and Yash to share screen space.
