Manchu Vishnu’s dream project ‘Kannappa’ was launched in August 2023
Last month, on August 18, Manchu Vishnu announced his dream project ‘Kannappa’ by performing a grand pooja ceremony at the Srikalahasti Temple. Now, an interesting news related to the ambitious project is that Prabhas and Nayanthara are going to play crucial roles in the film, and actress Madhubala accidentally revealed the same in a recent interview.
While talking about her projects, Madhubala inadvertently spilled the beans about the film’s cast and said “I will be doing a film called ‘Kannappa’. Prabhas and Nayanthara, they’re a part of the cast and Mohan Babu’s son I think is the main hero.” The video clip of Madhubala is now going viral on social media and netizens are strongly believing that the two pan-India stars will be seen as Lord Shiva and Parvathi in the film, which is based on the life of a shaivite and devotee Kannappa Nayanar.
If the news of Prabhas and Nayanthara being a part of ‘Kannappa’ gets confirmed, it will be their second collaboration long after Yogi (2007). Manchu Vishnu will be seen in the titular role in the big-budget pan-India film, which will be directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced by Dr Mohan Nanu under the banners of 24 Frames Factory and AVA Entertainment. Written by Paruchuri Gopalakrishna, Burra Sai Madhav, and Thota Prasad, the film’s music is to be composed by Mani Sharma and Stephen Devassy.
The mythological biographical film was first made in 1954 in Kannada language as Bedara Kannappa, starring the legendary actor Dr Raj Kumar. Then in 1976, it was remade in Telugu as ‘Bhakta Kannappa’ with the senior ‘Rebel Star’ Krishnam Raju playing the title role. It would be interesting to see the senior rebel’s nephew playing Lord Shiva in the film.
