Actor Kamal Haasan expressed his honest opinion when asked about the future of theatrical experience amidst the rise of OTT Platforms Kamal Haasan’s ‘Vikram’ is releasing on June 3 and the actor is busy promoting his film across the country. During one of the interviews he gave to a leading English daily, the ‘Vishwaroopam’ actor was asked about the future of theatrical experience given the proliferation of OTT platforms and the changing tastes of audiences across the country. Being one of pioneering Indian actors who voiced for a Direct-To-Home release of his 2013 film 'Vishwaroopam' and faced the ire of theatre owners, producers, distributors and filmmakers, Kamal Haasan said “I had predicted the rise of OTT a long time ago but it doesn’t mean that people watching cinema in theatres will reduce,” and then used an interesting analogy to elaborate, “Every household in India has a calendar or picture of Lord Balaji but that does that mean the daily visitors to Tirumala decrease?” he questioned. Technological advancements are a natural part of life’s evolution and we should adapt and take them in our stride, said the ‘Uttama Villian’ hero who further confirmed that he would be teaming up with Tamil director Pa Ranjith soon for another pan-Indian project. Kamal Haasan's upcoming film 'Vikram' is all set to release in theatres and the trailer was unveiled yesterday, to a striking response from the audience.
