During 'Ante Sundaraniki' promotions, actor Nani revealed the reason for collaborating with filmmakers who are just 2-3 films old
Nani and Nazriya Nazim starrer Ante Sundaraniki is releasing on June 10. The film is helmed by Vivek Athreya of ‘Mental Madhilo’ and ‘Brochevarevarura’ fame. Nani in a recent interview was asked how he could feel confident about working with Vivek Athreya who had done only two films till date.
Responding to this Nani said, “Many people have questioned me as to why I need to work with two and three-films-old directors. When Vivek met me and narrated the story of ‘Ante Sundaraniki’, I got this strong feeling that he would definitely become a top director in future. His writing and direction are really good. Sometimes, it’s happier to become part of the journey of future star directors than work with the present leading directors. Vivek is a gem! He has a unique style of his own that cannot be replicated by any other director”.
He further added, “There is also such a thing as ‘gut feeling’. I go by it when deciding whether the new director will be able to translate his vision properly on screen. When I was a newcomer, I did not have a slew of films behind me either but producers and directors believed in me and gave me opportunities which made me what I am today. Is it not my responsibility to give others also a chance today? If I feel the director has talent, I commit to the project and do not worry about anything else”.
