Vijayendra Prasad also praised ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ for their hard work and achievementKV Vijayendra Prasad is one of the most revered writers in the Indian film industry right now. He wrote the story of the internationally acclaimed film ‘RRR’ and has penned the scripts of several blockbusters. In a recent interview with a Telugu news channel, Vijayendra Prasad spoke at length about the historic win of "Naatu Naatu" at the Oscars. He said, “This is not the ultimate victory. We are just starting out. There are 15-20 categories in Oscars, we have won in just one. See 'Everything Everywhere All At Once' which was nominated in 9 categories and it won in many. That's great isn’t it? Even we (Indian cinema) should strive like them and reach that level (sic)."When the interviewer praised the team of ‘RRR’ for representing Telugu cinema on a global level, Vijayendra Prasad replied, “It’s regional cinema when we are in India. Once we go on a global level, we are representing Indian cinema. It being a Telugu language film is just a bonus.”Further, he added that ‘RRR’ is not an individual victory but the culmination of efforts of multiple filmmakers before Rajamouli, “In retrospect I feel, a foundation has been laid by so many producers, directors and actors for RRR to reach up to Oscars. We are fortunate enough to stand on their efforts to take the final leap. It’s not an individual victory, it’s the collective victory of the entire movie field.”
