The official remake of the Shiva Rajkumar-starrer ‘Mufti’, will hit the theatres in the first quarter of 2023
Silambarasan, popularly known as Simbu, is all set for the release of his upcoming Tamil movie’ ‘Pathu Thala’', which had been delayed for a long time due to unforeseen circumstances, For ‘Paatu Thala’, Simbu had put on weight since he wanted his physical appearance to match the robust and menacing traits of the lead character in the movie.
Sharing a captivating poster on social media, Studio Green, the makers confirmed that the Simbu-starrer will be available in cinemas on March 30, 2023. The latest poster of ‘Pathu Thala’ has Simbu in a terrorising avatar to say the least. Resting on the bonnet of a black sedan against a grimy backdrop, Simbu with a long beard sets the theme of the action drama.
Obeli N Krishna helms ‘Pathu Thala’ and the Tamil filmmaker had talked about the movie and the cast in an old interview. “When you say Pathu Thalai, you immediately think of Raavanan. Simbu’s character is also on similar lines. So, we thought the title fits the film perfectly. Simbu is a very powerful man. He is a man of few words,” remarked Krishna.
Interestingly, ‘Paatu Thala’ is the remake of the Kannada blockbuster ‘Mufti’, which starred Shiva Rajkumar and Sri Murali. Though a remake, ‘Paatu Thala’ is more of an adaptation said Obeli N Krishna since he revamped the original by making significant changes to the script. The Kannada original was helmed by Narthan and the director also contributed to ‘Paatu Thala’ by filming a few scenes for 10 days. However, the scenes helmed by Narthan may or may not make the final cut since Krishna will be taking the final call.
Actors Gautham Karthik, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Kalaiyarasan, and Joe Mallori play pivotal roles in the mafia thriller.
