The art director of Sarkaru Vaari Paata, AS Prakash, gives an exclusive interview on the visual aspect of the film As much as storytelling and direction, visuals also play an equally significant role in making an impression on the audience minds. They also are a part of the story and speak silently, which is why the art directors put utmost effort in enhancing the visual experience of a film to the best possible extent. One such art director who strives for visual perfection is AS Prakash, whose most recent work includes Superstar Mahesh Babu's most anticipated project Sarkaru Vaari Paata. AS Prakash began his journey in 2003 and has since worked with some of the big directors and producers of the industry. He holds a Master's degree in Fine Arts, which he admits had helped him in designing the sets for various productions. Some of his notable works include: Mirchi (2013), Baadshah (2013), Janatha Garage (2016), Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava (2018) and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2020). He had recently given an exclusive interview to a leading website, about the production design for Sarkaru Vaari Paata and his future projects. Prakash was asked how the sets were designed keeping in mind the story and the superstar status of Mahesh Babu, with whom he has already worked on six films. He replied "Mahesh Babu is a very well-versed person in filmmaking. He makes it a point to discuss with me about the sets in detail, and how his team would be shooting for the film, which would help me come up with a plan. Keeping in mind that Mahesh Babu is a big star, it is very hard for him to shoot outdoors. That is the reason almost 90% of the film has been shot indoors on sets". On being asked the challenges faced during the set designing, he said "Building sets entails an amount of homework and it is separate for the Story and Songs. For Songs, the sets are usually designed based on the meaning of the lyrics, so we had to have two different sets for the 'mass song'. Though there is media and the new-age technology that helps us enhance the work on screen, it can increase our work too. For example, CG gives us more work. Apart from designing the sets, I have to cater to the CG department and show the sketches to them as well, and make changes accordingly. So sometimes, it does increase our work". AS Prakash also mentioned that 'SVP' is not just a film backed by script but also a visual wonder, which enhances the overall viewing experience of the film. The film, co-starring Keerthy Suresh, is directed by Parasuram Petla, and produced by Naveen Yerneni, Y Ravi Shankar, Ram Achanta and Gopichand Achanta under the banners Mythri Movie Makers, 14 Reels Plus and G Mahesh Babu Entertainment. The film is scheduled to release on May 12, 2022.
