Ramajogayya Sastry talks about the difference in working on Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy
Ramajogayya Sastry is the lyricist instrumental in the chartbusters from the Sankranti releases. From Waltair Veerayya’s “Sridevi Chiranjeevi'' to Veera Simha Reddy’s “Maa Bava Manobhavalu,” the lyricist played a big role in the catchy tunes from the upcoming biggies.
In a recent interview, he spoke about the process of writing songs and his rapport with his directors and music directors. He remarked, “A lyricist has to work closely with the director to make their vision come true… Gopichand Malineni narrated the story (of Veera Simha Reddy) to me, allowing me to sit with Thaman and make amazing music. All three released songs are a super hit.” Teasing the fourth yet-to-be-released song from the movie, the lyricist said, “The song Mass Mogudu has a very energetic beat. It’s worthy of being in the climax.”
Speaking about the difference in working on ‘Veera Simha Reddy’ and ‘Waltair Veerayya’, he said, “In a single card (‘Veera Simha Reddy’), there’s one advantage. Since one person is writing all the songs, it’s easier to establish a flow between them in terms of the song's emotions and the words used. If six writers are writing a song each (‘Waltair Veerayya’), then it becomes the responsibility of the director to coordinate between them and establish the flow between songs.”
Chiranjeevi’s ‘Waltair Veerayya’ and Nandamuri Balakrishna’s ‘Veera Simha Reddy’ are slated for a release on January 13 and January 12, respectively.
