Hinting to be a part of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Cinematic Universe, Leo is all ready to hit the big screens on October 19, 2023Trailer of the highly anticipated Lokesh Kanagaraj and Vijay film LEO, which is almost confirmed to be a part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), was released yesterday and fans have already started cooking up interesting theories connecting multiple threads shown in the glimpse of Leo Das & Parthi’s (Vijay) blood-soaked world.Besides a kutti cop-killer’s tale, all the hunts and chases, menacing villains, tussle with a blood-stained hyena, Das brothers, an innocent chocolate maker’s attempts to protect his family, Anirudh’s rousing music and what seems like Rolex’s appearance at the end, the trailer kept fans hanging on one major question - Are Leo & Parthi different people, or they’re just one person? In the Bloody Sweet Promo, which was released in Feb 2023, we saw Vijay in two different shades, both culminating into one. He was seen making chocolates in a small factory amidst the snow-capped mountains on one hand, and forging and tempering swords in a heat-filled forge on the other. As he dips the sword in liquid chocolate and tastes it, we all assumed that he might be a gangster leading double lives. However, in the Trailer, we see Vijay in two different roles - Leo Das and Parthi, but it’s still not clear whether Leo and Parthi are two different people, or is it just one man playing two roles. Because Parthi is shown as a chocolatier and a normal family man having a wife (Trisha Krishnan) and daughter, and is struggling to protect them from goons who attack them time after time. In one instance, Parthi also ragefully expresses to his wife that, “If all of them torture me claiming that I resemble some riff-raff, what can I do?”. So netizens are not sure about the connection between Leo and Parthi. Also if you notice, the story takes place in two different timelines - past and present. Therefore, like Gautam Menon’s character says in the trailer - “Beyond this, if truth has to be told, Leo has to come and tell in person.” For us audience, LEO the film will reveal the answers in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi languages, on October 19. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, and produced by SS Lalit Kumar and Jagadish Palanisamy, LEO stars an ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Priya Anand, Mysskin, Sandy Master and more.
