In an exclusive interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Vijay Kiragandur gives an update on not just Prabhas' 'Salaar', but also on the next chapter in 'KGF' series Hombale Films had made itself known with the 'Monster' success of the 'KGF series'. The production has not only churned the Yash starrers, KGF: Chapter 1 and KGF: Chapter 2, but they're also producing the upcoming most awaited Prabhas' Salaar as well. The founder of the production house, Vijay Kiragandur, had recently given an interview to the leading regional daily 'Dainik Bhaskar.' In that inteview, not only did he update us on the progress of Salaar, but he had also revealed the future of the KGF series. 'KGF: Chapter 2' broke the existing records, and went on to become the second-highest grosser in India after Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. The film had even crossed the highest grosser 'Dangal', in the North belt, and established itself, which is a rare feat for a Kannada film. Speaking about the massive success of the film, he was asked the reason of going big in 'KGF: Chapter 2'. He replied "After the success of Chapter 1, we conducted a sample survey on almost a total of 8000 people, which included people from North and South. That survey was basically for us to understand how much people know about the world of 'KGF,' so we would understand what we're dealing with". After the survey results came out, the makers have realised the anticipation for the film. Kiragandur further added "Almost 90% of the people, in the survey, had basic to complete knowledge of not just the film but also the actors, and after that we realised that the second part is the most anticipated film. So, that's why went big and created the film on a grand scale. Since our expectations were high, we gambled". Talking about the tentative release year of 'KGF: Chapter 3', Kiragandur had also given us an update into Prabhas' 'Salaar'. He said "KGF director Prashant Neel is currently busy with his next film Salaar, which is also produced by Hombale Films. About 30-35% of the film has been finished, and we plan to finish it up by October-November this year, and we have a schedule starting next week. Post which, we would start the making of 'KGF 3'. We are planning a 2024 release for the film". As seen in the climax of 'KGF: Chapter 2', the future of Rocky (played by Yash) remains uncertain, and when asked if Yash would be seen reprising his role in the future possible sequels, he mentioned "We are planning to develop a Marvel Universe type for the future possible sequels of KGF, as we want to reach more people. We want to create a universe where we can bring together interesting characters from different films like in 'Spiderman: Homecoming' or in 'Doctor Strange'. Meanwhile, even though 'KGF: Chapter 2' is coming close to the end of its theatrical run, the collections of the film refuse to come down. It has also been reported that the film will start streaming on Amazon Prime from May 27, 2022.
