The buzz surrounding Nikhil Siddharth-starrer Karthikeya 2 turns up with each passing day. The mystical adventure has taken theatres by storm as the footfalls in multiplexes and single screens have been promising.
Audiences in Mumbai have started picking up on the movie due to the positive word-of-mouth and theatres witness a significant increase in ticket sales from day 1 of its release. ‘Karthikeya 2’ started with just eight theatres on its release date - August 13. On Sunday, the number of theatres allotted for the film has sprung to more than 20 theatres. Reports suggest the addition of over 60 theatres for the movie from Monday due to the positive feedback that the movie garnered. As the film has more pan-Indian appeal, fans kept tagging the actor and production house requesting to increase screens in North India for the Hindi version. Now according to the reports the Hindi screen count has increased from 60 on day 1 to 300 on day 2. This is a huge achievement for the film. Still, the demand for the film is very high and we can expect a lot more screens to be added in the days to come.

Helmed by Chandoo Mondeti, the plot revolves around the leads of the movie, Nikhil and Anupama Parameswaran, deciphering the mysteries of Dwarka’s Lord Sri Krishna. The movie acts as a sequel to the 2014 thriller 'Karthikeya', which had Swathi Reddy as the female lead of the movie.
