There have been absolutely no updates of any kind regarding the project
Long back, following the success of Arjun Reddy, Vijay Deverakonda was the go-to boy for top production houses and directors in Tollywood. But post the debacle of Liger, the landscape has changed completely.
As of now, Vijay Devarekonda has only one project in the pipeline: Kushi in the direction of Shiva Nirvana. Jana Gana Mana, the ambitious Pan-Indian project planned in the direction of Puri Jagannath has been shelved and now, another project has been added to the list. Deverakonda was supposed to do a film to be helmed by ace director Sukumar. However, Sukumar is currently busy with Pushpa: The Rule which is gearing for a release in December 2023 following which he will do a film with Ram Charan.
Also, with there being absolutely no updates whatever regarding the Sukumar-Devarakonda project, industry sources say that it is more or less a certainty that the film has been shelved. Apparently, Deverakonda has now given the green signal to a script narrated by Gowtham Tinnanuri. Incidentally, it is said to be the same script that Ram Charan had agreed to do but dropped after RRR became a Pan-Indian success and changed his image. Gowtham, in the meanwhile did his chances no good either by delivering a Bollywood dud Jersey which had Shahid Kapoor in the lead.
