Amala Paul recently visited Thiruvairanikulam Mahadeva temple in KeralaAccording to an India Today report, actress Amala Paul alleged that she was denied permission to enter Thiruvairanikulam Mahadeva temple in the Ernakulam district of Kerala by the authorities owing to ‘religious discrimination’. The actor visited the temple on January 16 when she was not allowed to enter the temple, citing customs that allow only Hindus inside the premises. The Iddarammayilatho actress, who is a Christian by religion, was thus denied entry, leaving the actress upset. The actress claimed she was refused darshan, forcing her to take a glimpse of the Goddess from the road in front of the temple.Amala shared her experience in the temple's visitors register, saying she "felt the spirit even though she didn’t see the Goddess. It is sad and disappointing that religious discrimination still exists in 2023. I couldn't go near the Goddess but could feel the spirit from a distance. I hope there will be a change in religious discrimination soon. The time will come, and we will all be treated equally and not on the basis of religion," Amala Paul wrote in the temple visitor's register.According to a report by News18 Malayalam, the temple officials said they were only following the existing protocols. "Many devotees of other religions have come to visit the temple, but no one knows that. However, when a celebrity comes, it becomes controversial," Trust Secretary Prasoon Kumar said.On the work front, the actress will be next seen in Ajay Devgn directorial ‘Bholaa’. Co-starring Tabu and Ajay Devgn, Amala will reportedly play a Banarasi woman in the upcoming film slated to release on March 30. Also Read: Amala Paul Reveals Why She Couldn't Connect With Tollywood
