I’m done with experimental roles, says ChiranjeeviAt the pre-release event of Waltair Veerayya, megastar Chiranjeevi was asked an interesting question as to whether there was any genre which he regretted not doing in his illustrious career. Responding to this, the Acharya actor said, “Twenty years ago, I used to feel that void where I wanted to satisfy the artiste in me. But not anymore! Now, I feel that it is my responsibility to give my fans and audiences what they expect from me rather than fulfilling my own fantasies. The late Dr SP Balasubramanyam used to ask me to different kinds of movies. I told him that I had already tried films like Swayamkrushi and Rudraveena. They got me recognition and awards but the producers incurred losses. I respectfully told Balu Sir that although there was a hunger in me for those kinds of roles, the majority of audience wanted to see me in full-fledged mass entertainers. Therefore, such kind of cinema will always be my priority.”Waltair Veerayya starring Chiranjeevi and Shruti Hassan will be releasing worldwide for Sankranthi on January 13. Ravi Teja plays a cameo in the film which is directed by KS Ravindra (Bobby) and has music by Devi Sri Prasad.
