The Meet and Greet event of 'Brahmastram' was held in Vizag as part of the movie promotions Ranbir Kapoor, SS Rajamouli and Ayan Mukherjee flew down to Vizag in Andhra Pradesh to kick-start the promotions of their film ‘Brahmastra’ which is releasing worldwide on September 9, 2022. ‘Brahmastra’ is the first part of a trilogy that will be made over a period of 10 years by director Ayan Mukherjee. Produced by Karan Johar, ace director SS Rajamouli will be presenting the film in the Southern states. Releasing as 'Brahmastram' in Telugu, the film has Alia Bhatt, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Mouni Roy and Amitabh Bachchan playing prominent roles in the film. Here are the highlights from the ‘Meet and Greet’ event held at Melody Theatre in Vizag: Ranbir Kapoor: “I play the character of Shiva who is a DJ and is born with a certain strange connection with fire. And it is his journey into the world of ancient astras and of realising the divine connection to fire and also his connection to the Brahmastra waking up. I’m lucky that I’m among those few Bollywood actors to come to Vizag and I’m simply bowled over by the love and affection shown by the people here. I’m sure that every Bollywood actor from now on will want to come to Vizag and promote their films. Ayan Mukherjee: My first two films ‘Wake Up Sid’ and ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ were with Ranbir Kapoor and 'Brahmastra' is actually a trilogy. So, my first five films are with Ranbir. I’m committed to him for life. We share the same opinion professionally and personally, that’s what helped us to build a great rapport, our association wasn’t planned or anything, it was just a natural progression. Also, the characters I wrote correspond to Ranbir’s age, so he was the natural fit for the characters in my films. I hope the Telugu audiences get a completely fresh experience from ‘Brahmastra’, something unlike anything they’ve witnessed before. I want to give them a spectacle that would leave them speechless while getting them hooked on to the plot for the subsequent films. SS Rajamouli: Karan Johar and I are extremely passionate about films but Ayan Mukherjee is ‘crazy’. That’s what made me decide to back his vision down South. Amidst all the grandeur of ‘Brahmastra’, Ayan never lost focus of the fact that at the core was a beautiful love story. Alia Bhatt (in a Video message): ‘Brahmastra’ is a very special film for me and what makes it even more special is Rajamouli sir presenting it. I’m really disappointed at not being in Vizag for this event…I'm shooting in London for a Hollywood movie…it’s really big for us all to be starting the promotions of ‘Brahmastra’ in Vizag but I’m there in spirit and especially in Ranbir’s heart. Nagarjuna Akkineni (in a Video message): I grew up watching the films of NTR and my father Nageswara Rao. Their mythological films had various astras used in battle. But this ‘Brahmastra’ is the king of all astras and is very special to me. Another reason why this movie is special is because Amitabh sir is part of it. I like him a lot and I enjoy every minute that I get to spend with him. Ranbir is a superstar and yet one of the most humble persons I’ve ever come across. Ayan has given his everything for this film. He has created a different universe, a different dimension. I’m grateful to Ayan for making me a part of ‘Brahmastra’. His hard work will not go in vain. Above all, Ayan and Ranbir, Vizag is a beautiful place with a beautiful beach. Go and enjoy yourselves.
