Ever since filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj revealed his plans of materialising the gangster-themed film with Thalapathy Vijay in the lead, speculations of renowned artists joining the cast of the untitled movie have made headlines. In the latest, actor-filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon opened up about his involvement in ‘Thalapathy67’.At the recent ‘Tamil Cinema Roundtable 2022’ conference hosted by Galatta Plus, ace directors and actors of the Tamil film fraternity came together to discuss the aspects of filmmaking. In a conversation with film critic Baradwaj Rangan, Gautham pointed at Lokesh when asked about the projects he is involved in among the directors present. Gautham revealed that he’s a part of Lokesh’s upcoming after getting a nod from the latter. “I'm in his film. I just saw him (Lokesh) and after he gave his nod to reveal this, I'm confirming it here now,” stated the Tamil director.With this statement about his inclusion in Thalapathyt67's cast, the filmmaker-actor has added to the hype, considering that versatile actors Sanjay Dutt, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Nivin Pauly, among others, are expected to play pivotal roles in the action drama. Fans ponder what Lokesh has in mind for Gautham since the latter is on a high after delivering the critically acclaimed gangster film ‘Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu’ (Life of Muthu in Telugu), starring Simbu. In another roundtable conference hosted by Film Companion, Gautham remarked that he ditched the conventional method of filmmaking when he brought the story of ‘Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu' to life. The Ye Maaya Chesave director said that he had to unlearn years of filmmaking to helm the Simbu-starrer; which garnered immense positive love from fans and critics alike.
