The ‘Sita Ramam’ actor talks about his passion for cinema; says people have an opinion on everything he does
Dulquer Salmaan has had a busy year with four releases - Sita Ramam, Hey Sinamika, ‘Salute’ and 'Chup: Revenge Of The Artist'. He has reached the pan-Indian star stature by working across four industries and opting for distinct roles in every film.
The versatile actor recently interacted with the media and talked about how people have an opinion on every aspect of his career. He remarked, “People have an opinion on anything I do. They’re always ready to give free advice on the kinds of films I should and should not be doing and my career, in general. For example, they feel I shouldn’t be acting in films across four industries and that if I keep my feet on multiple boats, I’ll sink.”
Dulquer further explained why he goes beyond language barriers in cinema and doesn't restrict himself. “I operate with a lot of love and passion for cinema. I belong to a generation where all of us are seeking experiences. We have the luxury of just backpacking and travelling across the world on our own and gaining experiences, documenting them and putting them out there. I do that with my film choices because when I work across different industries, I gain various kinds of cultural experiences.”
The ‘Kurup’ actor said he wants to make original cinema, irrespective of whether he’s right or wrong and constantly pushes himself to present his best work. With a witty smile, Dulquer concluded with, “I would want to thank everyone for their free advice.”
