Author Jonathan Goldman is all in for RRR’s Oscars campaign; calls it the “Best Picture Of The Year” After world cinema celebrated the colossal success of RRR, a section of Indians and oversea audiences debated the worthiness of the SS Rajamouli epic for an Oscar. While the majority rejoiced at the news of ‘RRR’ getting shortlisted at the Academy Awards, a section of Twitterati wasn’t pleased. Amidst the ongoing discussions, renowned American author Jonathan Goldman has backed ‘RRR’ and has nothing but compliments for the magnum opus. Sharing his views on the period action-drama, Jonathan tweeted, “I don’t care what anyone thinks @RRRMovie is hands down the Best Film of the Year. Not the Best Foreign Film. The BEST FILM period. Haven’t been wowed like that since Crouching Tiger but this film also has dancing. Just find a way to see it— incredible filmmaking and storytelling (sic).” After terming it the “Best Film” that transcends international borders, he urged the Academy Awards aka Oscars to consider the film under the same category. “I mean cc: @TheAcademy because facts matter. Best. Picture. Of. The. Year. (sic),” penned Jonathan.Though the Ram Charan-Jr NTR starrer hasn’t made it to the Oscar Nominations under the ‘Best Film’ category, the film’s “Naatu Naatu” song has been shortlisted for the Academy Awards’ ‘Best Song’ category.
