Megastar says he can’t sit at home and do nothing, he wants to keep working Megastar Chiranjeevi entered the film industry in 1978 with Pranam Khareedu. More than four decades later, he continues to act with the same energy and zest, providing tough competition to the newer crop of actors. Now, the 67 year old actor is gearing up for his upcoming release Waltair Veerayya directed by KS Ravindra (Bobby) and set in the Waltair region of Vizag. During the promotions of the movie, Chiru admitted to hating being idle and said he wanted to broaden his horizons. “I was speaking to someone recently, I said, ‘How long will I be in front of the camera?’, that I want to step behind it. I don’t like being idle or wish to lighten my work load. Clint Eastwood, at 91, still acts, directs and looks fit. He is an inspiring figure. When a situation arises that I should direct and if I have the confidence, I will definitely direct," said the Godfather actor. Further he spoke about feeling young on the sets of Waltair Veerayya, “Shooting for the film, I recalled the days of Rowdy Alludu, Gharana Mogudu, Muta Mestri and Annaya. I was bursting with energy throughout the shoot. When the unit would say pack up… I would stay back on sets for some time before leaving.”‘Waltair Veerayya’ is slated for release on 13 January, 2023 and features Ravi Teja, Shruti Haasan, Catherine Tresa, Prakash Raj, and Rajendra Prasad in pivotal roles.
