Reportedly, the filmmaker will also direct 'War 2' starring Hrithik Roshan
After delivering the blockbuster ‘Brahmastra - Part One: Shiva’ post the pandemic, Ayan Mukerji has been constantly questioned about the sequels in the trilogy. Finally breaking the silence on his plans, the filmmaker took to social media to give an exciting update on the Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt-starrer.
In a lengthy note, Ayan revealed the timeline of the much-awaited second and third parts in the trilogy. He wrote, "The time has come - for some updates on the Brahmastra trilogy, the Astraverse, and my life! After absorbing all the love and the feedback on part 1... I have been focused on creating the vision for part two and part three - which I know will be bigger and more ambitious than part 1! I have learnt that we need a little more time to perfect the script of Brahmastra two and three! And...I have decided that we are going to make the two films... together! Allowing them to release closer together! I have a timeline in place to achieve this, which I am sharing with you all today!"
He further stated that 'Brahmastra - Part Two: Dev' will release in December 2026, and ‘Brahmastra - Part Three’ will hit the screens in December 2027.
Ayan also dropped hints about another anticipated movie in the pipeline. If reports are to be believed, Ayan is on board to helm 'War 2’ starring Hrithik Roshan. Though he did not disclose about the project in his note, rumour mills are abuzz that he will be directing YRF’s next from the Spy Verse.
Revealing about the project, he added, "I have another piece of news to share... The universe presented me with a very special opportunity recently - a very special movie - to step into and direct. What the movie is... more on that when the time is right :) An opportunity that challenges me and terribly excites me... one where I will learn, be inspired and where I will grow! So, I have decided to take it up!! Opening myself up to all the positive energies in this universe so I can do my best and contribute to that one thing that matters most to me - Indian Cinema! Love and Light, Ayan."

'Brahmastra' part one starred an ensemble cast, including Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy, in key roles. The second part will focus on the characters of Dev and Amrita.
If you've watched the film, you know that Dev is Shiva's father and the lead antagonist, but the filmmaker didn't reveal the actor who'll be portraying Dev. However, people figured out Shiva's mother Amrita in the film as they noticed Deepika Padukone's blink-and-miss appearance. Now, everyone is eager to know who's playing Dev.
While netizens are convinced that Ranveer Singh would play Dev on the silver screen, the man-of-the-moment, director Ayan Mukerji has remained tight-lipped about the casting for the second part.
