Aravind Swamy will reportedly play the villain in ‘AK62’, helmed by Vignesh Shivan
While Ajith Kumar’s ‘Thunivu’ (Tegimpu in Telugu) is all set for a grand release, the actor is already preparing to begin filming his next, tentatively titled ‘AK62’. The project will be helmed by Vignesh Shivan, who is known for directing 2018’s Gang. The upcoming movie is expected to be an action thriller with a touch of humour. The project is bankrolled by Lyca Productions, the distributor of ‘Thunivu’.
According to the latest reports, Arvind Swamy has been roped in to play the antagonist, and the comedian Santhanam has been asked to play a key role. ‘AK62’ will be the second time the two Tamil stars will be sharing screen space. They previously worked together in the movie ‘Paasamalargal’ which was released in 1994. Arvind Swamy was supposed to be a part of Ajith’s Valimai, but dropped out due to a clash of dates.
As for the female lead, reports suggest that Trisha was the first choice of the production house. However, she is being reconsidered because of friction between her and director Vignesh Shivan. Nayanthara is currently the top choice considering the success of her film Connect.
The makers have made no official announcements regarding the project but updates are expected soon since Vignesh Shivan has confirmed that the movie will go on floors this year.
