Prominent Bollywood actor Salim Ghouse passed away following a heart attack at Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai, on Thursday. He was 70. According to his wife Anita Salim, Ghouse had complained of chest pain on Wednesday evening. He was rushed to the hospital and suffered a fatal stroke on Thursday morning while undergoing treatment. His last rites were completed immediately following his demise.
“He was a man with a lot of self-respect. He didn’t want to be dependent on anyone and passed away without suffering. He hated grieving and wanted life to go on,” said Anita Salim.
A graduate of the Film and Television Institute (FTII) of India in Pune, Salim Ghouse was quite popular among Telugu audiences too, having acted in the movies Antham, Rakshana, Mugguru Monagallu and Donga Donga (dubbed version of the Tamil film ‘Thiruda…Thiruda’). He was also an accomplished martial artist. In an interaction with the media, Salim Ghouse had once famously remarked, "It's the artiste that glorifies the art but the art is always greater".
