“This is a gross invasion of someone's privacy!,” says ‘RRR’ actress, tags Mumbai Police for strict action
Alia Bhatt, on Tuesday, called out a leading publication ‘ETimes’ for invading her privacy. Taking to the stories section of Instagram she slammed the publication and shared a collage of two pictures (clicked by paparazzi working for a media house), in which she can be seen sitting in her living room.
She wrote a furious note that read, "Are you kidding me? I was at my house having a perfectly normal afternoon sitting in my LIVING ROOM when I felt something watching me... I looked up and saw two men on the terrace of my neighbouring building with a camera right at me!"
She concluded her note with these words, "In what world is this okay and allowed? This is a gross invasion of someone's privacy! There's a line you just cannot cross and it's safe to say all lines were crossed today!" The actress has also tagged Mumbai police in her post. The photo was deleted after the RRR actress called out the media outlet.
Take a look at Alia Bhatt's post below:
Her friend and colleagues from the industry extended their support and lashed out at paparazzi sharing similar ordeals. Actor Anushka Sharma, who has requested the media not to reveal the face of her daughter Vamika, cited her own experience.
“This is not the first time they are doing this. About two years ago, we called them out for the same reason. You’d think it would have made them more respectful of people’s space and privacy. Absolutely shameful,” Sharma wrote on Instagram. Janhvi Kapoor too shared a similar experience.
“There is no justification for this absolutely disgusting invasion of privacy. Everyone from the entertainment industry is always for the media and the paparazzi and are accommodating. But there has to be a limit,” filmmaker Karan Johar said.
Her ‘Two States’ co-star Arjun Kapoor also shared the image and wrote, “Absolutely shameless. This is crossing all limits if a woman isn’t feeling safe in her own home, forget if she is a public figure or not for a second” Arjun Kapoor said.
