The Tamil heist thriller ‘Thunivu’ aka ‘Thegimpu’ locks a long theatrical runtime ahead of Sankranti 2023 releaseFondly called ‘Thala’, actor Ajith Kumar is all set to lead a thriller flick on the silver screens this Sankranti. Titled ‘Thunivu’, the Tamil original’s Telugu dubbed version will also hit the theatres as Thegimpu on January 11, 2023. Ahead of its theatrical release, the buzz has it that ‘Thunivu’ has locked a long runtime of close to three hours. As per the industry grapevine, makers of ‘Thunivu’ aka ‘Thegimpu’ have finalised 147 minutes, which translates to a duration of two hours forty-five minutes. The crime thriller, which is touted to fall under the genre of heist film has Ajith sporting a grey-haired macho avatar. The teasers and posters released so far promise that ‘Thunivu’ will be an action-packed gun-blazing entertainer.Directed by H Vinoth, ‘Thegimpu’ aka ‘Thunivu’ stars Manju Warrier and has Ghibran as the music composer. The songs released so far; “Chilla Chilla” and “Kasethan Kadavulada,” have met with rave reviews on YouTube with fans hailing the lyrics and peppy tunes of the two singles.At the box office, the Thala Ajith-starrer will lock horns with Thalapathy Vijay's ‘Varisu’ aka Vaarasudu (January 13), Chiranjeevi-starrer Waltair Veerayya (January 13), and Balakrishna's Veera Simha Reddy.
