Actress Sarika Thakur opens about her work prior to the lockdown, and how that affected her financial condition during the lockdown Costume designer-turned-actress Sarika was married to actor Kamal Haasan for sixteen years before the duo decided to part ways in 2004. The couple have two children Shruti and Akshara Haasan who are also actresses. In a recent interview given to a tabloid, Sarika revealed that she had run out of money during the lockdown. After her appearance in the Bollywood film 'Baar Baar Dekho', she had chosen to go back to the theatre. Talking about the situation at the time, Sarika said “Initially, I just wanted to do theatre for a year or so. But I enjoyed the work so much that it turned out to be five years. But they only pay you like Rs 2000 to Rs 2700 and when the lockdown happened, I ran out of money”. Meanwhile on the career front, Sarika was recently seen playing the female lead in ‘My Beautiful Wrinkles’, which is an episode part of the anthology series ‘Modern Love: Mumbai’, an Amazon Prime Original. Sarika plays the role of Dilbar, a woman in her sixties who is trying to come to terms with her traumatized past, and the same time conflicted about welcoming a romantic interest, who is a young man three decades younger to her.
