Actor Navdeep tweeted on the protests taking place across the country against the implementation of the 'Agnipath' scheme The entire country is being rocked by protests over the new recruitment policy for the youth to join the armed forces, the ‘Agnipath’ scheme introduced by the NDA government at the centre led by the BJP. The protests have turned violent with trains being torched and one agitator also being killed in a violent demonstration at the Secunderabad Railway Station in Hyderabad. While public opinion has been divided over the new scheme, many people have found fault with the demonstrators destroying public property and endangering the lives of innocent bystanders. Against this backdrop, Telugu cinema hero Navdeep has called out the protestors for their acts of violence vis-à-vis their noble goal of serving the nation by joining the army. In a note posted on Twitter, the 'Chandamama' sarcastically said, “Let me burn my country before I would like to serve it #nothanks.” Actors of late have been voicing out their opinions on various issues happening in the society irrespective of the applause or criticism they've been receiving. Be it Rahul Ramakrishna on the 'Hyderabad Minor Rape Case', Sai Pallavi on 'Religious Violence' or now Navdeep on the riots in protest of the Agnipath Scheme announced by the BJP government, they have been vocal about their views.
