It took 22 years for a die-hard fan of Nagarjuna Akkineni to complete the construction of a temple dedicated to Annamacharya The 1997 movie Annamayya remains as one of the all-time classics in the annals of Telugu cinema. Directed by K Raghavendra Rao and starring Nagarjuna Akkineni in the lead role of the famous 15th century Telugu composer Annamacharya, the movie won eight Nandi Awards, three Filmfare Awards and two National Awards. An ardent fan of Nagarjuna by the name of Nagesh was so impressed by the film that he decided to build a temple for Annamayya. He laid the foundation stone for the temple in Guntur in 1997 and finally, in 2022, he has successfully managed to complete the construction of the temple incurring a cost of Rs 1 Crore in the process. Apparently, the fan never sourced the money from anyone else but funded the construction of the temple entirely from his own pocket. An adherent fan of King @iamnagarjuna from guntur laid the foundation stone to build #AnnamacharyaTemple in 1997.
