Attributes Kantara’s success to Rishab Shetty’s acting and divine blessings
Actress Yami Gautam recently clocked 10 years in the Indian film industry. She had made her debut with the Bollywood movie ‘Vicky Donor’ in 2012 and since has acted in more than 25 films including the Tollywood films Gouravam, Yuddham and Courier Boy Kalyan.
Of late, Yami has carved a niche for herself courtesy of the films ‘Uri’, ‘Bala’ and ‘Dasvi’. In an interview, given to a leading digital portal, Yami spoke about how 2022 is such a momentous year for the Indian film industry.
“This is a year that broke all stereotypes. If you look at the kind of films that have worked at the box-office, they were all content driven. People are consuming good content from any part of the country irrespective of the names behind the project. It’s no longer about putting together combinations, it’s the content that now takes precedence,” said Yami.
She further added, “One of my most favourite films this year has been Kantara. I loved that film. Maybe, it’s because I’m from Himachal and I respect that belief. I think the way Rishab Shetty performed that scene, his level of observation and the way he got in the skin of the character, you can’t fake that. I also believe that for certain roles, the blessing just happens. It was the blessing also in the end because he earned it with his sincerity, the discipline he followed to enact that role.”
