12 Indian films including two documentaries are eligible for Oscar nominations in various categoriesThe Academy Awards released a list of 301 films and documentaries from around the world that are eligible for nominations in various categories. The list is titled ‘Reminder List of Productions Eligible for the 95th Academy Awards’ . 12 Indian works - 10 movies and two documentaries have made it to the Reminder List. Along with the name of the movie, it also includes the names of all actors from the film who qualify for a nomination. Inclusion to the Reminder list does not guarantee nomination; it means that the feature film meets the criteria for an Oscar nomination. The criteria as defined by the Academy is, “To be eligible for consideration under rules implemented for the 95th Academy Awards year, feature films must open in a commercial motion picture theater in at least one of six U.S. metropolitan areas… between January 1, 2022, and December 31, 2022, and complete a minimum qualifying run of seven consecutive days in the same venue. Feature films must have a running time of more than 40 minutes.”With Indian films basking in the international limelight, India stands a strong chance in a long time at winning the coveted Oscar. She grows up to become the madam of the brothel and fights to make the place safer for the prostitutes. Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn qualify for nominations in ‘Best Actress’ and ‘Best Actor’ categories. He dreams of becoming a filmmaker and conquers all the challenges that come his way.
